What are some good moving songs to use about newborn babies? I have a 3 month old son, and I have over 800 pictures of him, we are taking at least one picture a day, and I wanted to make a slideshow for our families, but I can’t find any good moving songs to use(ones that make you cry, my mother loves thoes). And I don’t like songs with the word baby in them. I’m trying to find some where the lyrics are about the birth of a baby/son, or the early days of having a baby. anything will help!

Colbie Caillat – CapriIt’s such a pretty song I love it 😀 I downloaded it even though I’d only ever listened to the one 30 sec clip on itunes which is unusual for me lolhope i helped xD

isn’t she lovely by stevie wonder (he wrote it about the birth of his daughter)you to me are everything – by the real thing

Dar Williams has two beautiful songs about the love of a parent for his or her child. “So close to my heart””The one who knows”Lyrics: on your baby and good luck with the slideshow! I’ll edit my answer if I think of more songs.**************EDIT. I knew there was another one. Chris de Burgh’s beautiful song “Only a word away”.Lyrics:”Plenty of time to turn out the light,I want to keep this feeling inside for a little more,It must be a Daddy’s pride and joy, a little baby boy,Is lying in my arms here tonight;Tears in my eyes when I saw you being born,So much emotion, words cannot form, so I’ll let it be,Only to say it’s you and me, for eternity,I wish you a wonderful life,And I’m only, I’m only, I’m only,Just a word away”*************EDIT 2: Another song: “Lullabye for a stormy night” by Vienna TengVideo with lyrics:

How did the Anglo-Normans win lands in Ireland? I read that during their reign in England, the Anglo-Normans arrived in Ireland in a “military operation” and they had to win lands. It also mentioned that this was on behalf of the warlords in Ireland. It does not further explain how. I would appreciate answers to any of these questions – In what ways was it a military operation? How did they actually win the lands and why did they need to? And what did it mean by on behalf of the Irish warlords?Thank you for any answers, all appreciated!
They won – in other words appropriated – land by force. Sometimes they just turned up with a modern, disciplined band and took over; sometimes they agreed to fight as mercenaries for local chieftains, and (as mercenaries sometimes will) edged out the original rulers to take control of the area. Some families now regarded as archetypally Irish – the Burkes (originally de Burgh) for instance – are rooted in Norman aggression. They probably were not, and did not regard themselves as, ‘Anglo-Normans’ but were simply Normans who thought they could do better for themselves in Ireland than in England, subject to the King’s rule. This happened in Scotland as well.A second wave of conquest established the so-called ‘English Pale’ in the south and east of Ireland. The freebooting Burkes and their like settled mainly in the west and did not acknowledge an overlord; the conquest of part of Ireland by the English crown and its maintenance for centuries was a military manoeuvre. Ireland, perched only a short sea crossing away and facing some of the least defensible parts of England and Wales, needed to be held to guard against its use in a flanking attack by continental enemies. This remained true as late as the Revolutionary/Napoleonic war, when there was one actual invasion (1798) by French troops and an attempt, foiled by adverse winds, to land an army in Bantry Bay. There was no actual invasion of Ireland in WW1 or WW2, but the place remained a worry for British military planners.Hope this helps.NOTE to Be an AngelI think you misunderstand the situation. Sharing property (especially land) equally between offspring was a native Irish (Celtic) custom, and also survived, despite the Jutish invasion, in Kent where it was known as ‘Gavelkind.’ It was also for a long time the norm in Galicia and Brittany, two mainland European areas with a Celtic population. The English invaders of Ireland abolished it in the Pale – you are quite right – with the effect that accumulation of capital became possible and this part of Ireland grew wealthy. It was in the parts still ruled by native Irish law that it continued, without any help from the English, with consequent continuing poverty. This system was one of the contributory causes of the potato famine in the 19thC – population grew out of control, holdings therefore became tiny and when the staple crop failed mass starvation resulted.

I heard that that area used a very clever divide n conquer lawthey decreed that all land must be divided evenly between progeny. That caused non english landholders farms to become smaller less efficient, easier to appropriate financially, yet from the perspective of heirs, it looked desirable. so after the invaders killed people to get land, then said they were administering law, fairly, they were tricky.

I need a really good sort-of like, LOVE song, but one thats popular and not too sappy.?
