Last night I cooked bolognese with beef and I put the left over meat in the fridge.? The meat’s sell by date was today and I cooked it yesterday and I believe cooking it renders the meat’s uncooked sell by date obsolete.Thanks all!

As long as it’s cooked the sellby date doens’t matter. It will last a few days in the fridge, as long as it’s well covered, but you can also freeze it so you have another meal handy in the freezer.

If you are going to leave it in the fridge (and not freeze it, which I wouldn’t do), it should be good 2 to 3 days.

Where are all the good whole-fat, hearty and healthy recipe blogs? I like too cook, and I like to cook healthily. But I believe cooking healthily also means cooking with whole-fat foods. I don’t buy the whole low-fat craze that’s got everybody around me frightened of most food nowadays.But what I’d really like to find are fabulous food blogs that have hearty recipes made with real butter and whole-fat milk. I can’t always get the *real* stuff because it’s expensive as heck, but I’d still like to cook with the full-fat stuff. It gives me more energy and keeps me fuller longer, which is really helpful at work, since I don’t have time to eat for long periods of time.Anybody have some suggestions? 🙂 –> there are a good variety of recipes (both baking and cooking) –> it is a website with mostly Japanese recipes, but the blogger here is also friends with several other bloggers whose recipes are great. –>

I found a recipe for mascarpone cheese online. heavy cream and a lemon. Omg, is it ever good! I will never buy cream cheese again! You might see if there are blogs associated with weston-price foundation. Those folks are full fat aficionados too.

I use for most of my recipes. I never see a recipe that calls for low-fat products. it’s all about real cooking with real ingredients. is one of my favorite, and she uses the full-fat options (and encourages it for flavor). Also, her recipes are always delicious. 🙂

Is there issues of opening a restaurant where patrons cook their own food? In short me and my father were thinking of a restaurant idea where customers cook food at their own table. We were wondering if there is any issues with such an idea? I know of a restaurant called the “melting pot” where I believe customers cook meats in a vat of hot oil. Though i have never been there myself. High liability costs and such aside, would this idea even be possible to do?Thanks for any help
I’ve been to many fondue restaurants, a breakfast place, and a bbq place that you cook your own food, so I’m going to say that it’s possible!

The quickest way to find out if this is even feasible is to check with your local health department. I would say the vast majority would not allow it. They are going to have the final say so. If they don’t expressly forbid it then YEAH it could work. You might also want to check with your local city council. The second major consideration is the insurance costs which would be much higher due to the increased risk. It seems like a decent fun idea but when reality sets in it might not be so much.

You would definitely need to hire some professional cooks to stand at each table and help the customers cook the food properly and make sure nothing gets broken. It sounds like a great idea though, a lot of people would like to try cooking their own restaraunt food.

I have been to a Korean BBQ place where it is buffet style and you cook your food at the table. My brother and myself loved it, my old school dad wasn’t too fond of it. haha

No. The reason most people go out to dine is that someone else cooks and cleans up after them.Then there is the liability issue. Give someone the opportunity to hurt themselves and they will, and then they’ll sue.

What are some other paths in the food industry? I’m 21 and I’m a cook. I graduated from a culinary school. Right now, i work in a restauarant to gain some exp. I would like to continue to keep educated myself becuz learning nevers end. But I wanna ask what other educations can i get to help in my cooking field other than pastry and sugar decoration course. I really enjoy creating new dishes with different kind of flavors and textures by using my own theory. I believe cooking will bring happiness to ppl. I was thinking taking chinese herb medicine. (What other suggestion do u have?) I never intend to open a restuarant and become a executive chef. I look at cooking as more in scientific and formulas. BTW, i’m also a language lover. I speak English, Chinese, French, Spanish, and a bit of Russian. I think the language can give me that extra boost in my cooking area. No short answer plz.thoughtful answer is welcome. I would look into a food science degree. Large companies employ food scientists to create new flavors, change existing recipes, and come up with new ones. With a culinary school degree and a BS in Food Science, you could go to work for any food company doing almost anything.from Doritos to Cheesecake Factory corp coming up with new dishes to making new ice cream flavors.

another aspect is to look at agriculture. to see how you could help improve the flavor of things as they are growing.. also with the invention of different foods ( ie the broccoflower.I also find the best recipes are made by just using your imagination.. like you said use different textures and tastes and eye appeal is a big one.. and have fun with it. eye appeal can also be a scientific formula as well. different shaped plates.. how to stack or arrange the food for best presentation.. with your knowledge in languages. you can use that to enhance your ability to do infusion cooking where you can use some of the foreign recipes and mix them with the western recipes.. there is a whole world of possiblities out there .. I hope you have fun and continue with the idea of cooking brings happiness. I believe the heart of the home is the kitchen. enjoy and bon appetite’
